M502 - Thermal Environment
Description
**Cost includes the BOHS examination fees**
This course aims to provide you with a sound understanding of the effects of the thermal environment on people, and the means of assessing and controlling the risks associated with thermal stress.
How to prepare
Candidates are strongly encouraged to read the course manual which is publicly available for download or online viewing via the BOHS website.
Learning objectives
On completing this examination successfully, you will be able to:
- Identify sources of thermal stress within the working environment;
- Understand the nature of thermal strain on the body;
- Make an assessment of the thermal environment through appropriate measurement and other means;
- Evaluate the likely risk from exposure to thermal stress;
- Suggest appropriate control approaches for the thermal environment
To take part in online courses delegates will need:
-Internet access
- A laptop or desktop computer.
- A webcam (this may already be built into your device) This is essential for the final examination
- Speakers (these may be built-in) so you can hear the trainer and audio
- Microphone (this might already be built into your computer/laptop) so that you can engage with the class and your trainer Internet connection / WIFI
- Headsets or headphones may be worn during the course but are not permitted during the exam

An electronic copy of the course slides and revision pack is attached to this email for your convenience. You may print these locally if you wish.
If you did not order hard copies at the time of booking, you may still request printed versions of the course manual and/or slides and revision pack. Please contact us if you would like us to arrange this for you.

Examination guidance
Please note that only the official BOHS course manual is permitted for use during the open-book examination.
- You may use:
- an electronic copy of the BOHS manual (accessed online or stored locally on your computer), or
- a hard copy of the BOHS manual.
- Slides, revision packs, and any other course materials (whether printed or electronic) are not permitted during the examination.
If you have any questions about course materials or examination requirements, please do not hesitate to get in touch.
